Hasan Foez Siddique took oath as 23rd Chief Justice

Senior Justice Hasan Foez Siddique of the Appellate Division of the Supreme Court was sworn in as the 23rd Chief Justice of Bangladesh on Friday.

President Abdul Hamid administered the oath of office to him in a ceremony at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban on Friday afternoon.

The matter has been confirmed by the President's Press Secretary Joynal Abedin.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, President's wife Begum Rashida Khanam, members of the cabinet, former Chief Justice, judges of the Appellate and High Court divisions, Chiefs of the three forces, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister, Attorney General, and Supreme Court lawyers were attended on the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Chief Justice.

Later, the new Chief Justice signed the affidavit as per the rules.

Earlier, President Abdul Hamid appointed Justice Hasan Foez Siddique as the 23rd Chief Justice of the country.

The Ministry of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs issued a notification in this regard on December 30.
