A 33-member full committee of Hefazat-e-Islam has been formed with Junaid Babungari as emir and Nurul Islam Jehadi as secretary general.

At a press conference at a madrasa in Dhaka's Khilgaon area today, Nurul Islam dissolved the jihadi convening committee on behalf of the organization and announced a new committee. He was the member secretary of the convening committee. Many of the Islamist groups, including the recently arrested Mamunul Haque and Azizul Haque Islamabadi, were not included in the committee.

On the other hand, the founder of the Qawmi Madrasa-based organization Ahmed Shafi's eldest son. Yusuf has been made assistant secretary general in the new Hifazat committee.

However, after the death of Ahmed Shafi, a section led by his younger son Anas Madani did not accept Junaid Babungari as the leader of the organization. This part was not included in the new committee of Hefazat.
