9 tourists killed in Himachal landslide

Nine tourists have been killed in a landslide in India's Himachal Pradesh. Three others were injured in the incident. One of them is a local resident.

The landslide occurred at Badseri village in Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday. At that time, big stones fell from the hill and hit a car carrying tourists. 9 tourists lost their lives.

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) was quoted by ANI as saying that there were 11 passengers in the vehicle. Among the injured were two tourists and a pedestrian. Upon hearing the news of the landslide, the members of a rescue team rushed there.

According to local media, the victims came from different parts of Delhi and India to visit Himachal. But unfortunately they lost their lives. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep grief over the loss of life in the landslide.

Television footage showed large rocks crashing down a hill and crashing into a bridge. The bridge collapsed and fell into the river. Several vehicles were damaged by the rocks.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra, Mumbai and Goa in India were hit by floods and landslides caused by several days of heavy rains. Many are still feared missing in flood-hit Maharashtra and Goa. Floods and landslides in Maharashtra have so far claimed 138 lives.

The state's 84,000 residents have been evacuated. Hundreds of houses have been destroyed in Goa. More than 400 people have been evacuated. Meanwhile, a red alert is still in place in Mumbai.
