Housemaid found hanging at the house of Additional IGP

Police have recovered the body of a housemaid named Mausumi (14) from a house in Ramna's officers' quarter in the capital. On Wednesday, June 1 at around 5:30 pm, the police got the news and went to the spot and recovered the body. Later, Ramna police sent her to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) morgue for autopsy.


Earlier, the forensic department of CID came and collected the evidence.

It is known that Mausumi's house is in Tangail. She worked as a housemaid at the Additional IG Abu Hassan Tariq's house in the Ramna Officers Quarter. She used to work at Tariq's house. Hassan Tariq is the principal of Sarada Police Training College in Rajshahi. A police constable went to the house and shouted for a long time but the door was not opened and Ramna police were informed. Later, Ramna police went and broke down the door and recovered his hanging body from the verandah.

Ramna Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Younus Ali told that after receiving the news in the afternoon, they recovered the body of the housemaid from the house of the officers' quarter. Her body was hanging on the balcony of the house. The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy. An investigation is underway.
