Housewife's body recovered from locked house in Satkhira

Police have recovered the body of a housewife named Rozina Parveen (30) from a rented house in Kaliganj, Satkhira.

Her body was recovered from Sabilar Rahman's house in the Bazargram Rahimpur area of ​​Kaliganj Upazila around 12 am on Sunday.

Rozina Parveen is the daughter of Mohammad Raihan Ali of Bazargram Kashempur area of ​​Kaliganj Upazila and wife of Shafiqul Islam of Moharpur area of ​​Kotchand Upazila of Jhenaidah.

Mohammad Raihan Ali said that Shafiqul Islam got married to his daughter about 5 years ago. From then on, they lived as tenants in Sabilar Rahman's house in the Rahimpur area of ​​Bazargram, a neighboring village. They had been having family disputes for the last 5-6 months.

Raihan Ali alleged that Shafiqul had strangled his daughter to death after beating her. He later locked the house and fled.

Kaliganj police sub-inspector Belal Hossain said that after receiving information from the locals, they went to the spot and recovered Rozina's body from the locked house. Her body was lying on the floor.

Kaliganj Kushalia Union Parishad member Khairul Islam confirmed the incident and said that he thinks that Rozina Parveen was killed.

Officer-in-charge of Kaliganj Police Station Golam Mostafa said Rozina was killed. It is believed that her husband Shafiqul Islam killed Rozina on Saturday night. He later locked the house and fled.
