4 members of human trafficking ring arrested

The Elite Force Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested four members of a human trafficking ring from Jatrabari in the capital. On Friday, May 21 at night, a special expedition team of RAB-10 detained them. Six hostages were rescued at the time.

According to RAB, the gang was trafficking women and children of different ages in different countries of the world for the purpose of engaging in illegal prostitution and sex work in the name of employment abroad.

Mishu (38), Mohan Mia (20), Sujan Mia (27) and Riaz (22) are the members of the arrested human trafficking ring. At that time, 22 mobile phones and 2300 taka in cash were recovered from them.

RAB-10 Assistant Director (Media) ASP Enayet Kabir Sohaib said that during the preliminary interrogation, it was learned that the arrested were active members of the professional women and child trafficking ring. They have been organized for some time and have been trafficking women and children to different countries of the world for the purpose of illegal prostitution and sex work.

He also said that a case has been filed against them under the Human Trafficking Act at the concerned police station.
