Two people have been arrested with equipment for making Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). The Dhaka Metropolitan Police's (DMP) Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit arrested the two on Sunday night.

This information was given in a short message sent by the media and public relations department of DMP on Monday, August 02.

The names of the two arrested persons were not disclosed. However, a text message from the DMP's media and public relations department said the two men arrested were involved in the attack on the police box.

Back in 2019, miscreants attacked policemen on duty in front of Gulistan Shopping Complex. In the same year, there were explosions at the Science Laboratory junction and Malibagh in the capital.

Besides, two bombs were recovered from two police boxes in Paltan and Khamarbari areas.

After seeing the type and signs of the attack, CTTC officials told the media that a militant group was involved in the incident.
