Train-mini truck collision in Cumilla: 4-member investigation committee formed

A four-member investigation committee has been formed into the collision of a pickup van with a train at Paduar Bazar Bishwaroad area of ​​Cumilla on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway.

Cumilla Railway Assistant Engineer Liaquat Ali Majumder confirmed this information.

He said the committee was headed by Chattagram Divisional Railway Transport Officer Snehashish Das.

Aid officers are coming to the spot. Necessary action will be taken after investigations.

Incidentally, a pickup van collided with the Chattogram-bound Mahanagar Express on the Dhaka-Chattagram highway at 2pm on Saturday, August 28 under the Cumilla Paduar Bazar Bishwaroad rail overpass. A bogie of the train derailed. As a result, train services with Chattogram, Dhaka and Sylhet were stopped.

Upon receiving the news, the railway authorities are carrying out rescue work by bringing two relief trains from Laksam and Akhaura junction Loco Shed. The rescue operation was not completed till the writing of this report. However, no casualties were reported in the incident.
