Isaac Harzog has been elected the new president of Israel. He is the chairman of the Jewish Agency. Isaac Harzog will be sworn in as the 11th President of Israel.

Isaac Herzog was elected in a secret ballot at Israel's Knesset Plenum, the Jerusalem Post reported on Wednesday.

According to the report, Isaac Harzog got 87 votes in the presidential election. Another presidential candidate and award-winning academician, Miriam Peretz, got 27 votes.

Isaac Herzog will take over as President of Israel on July 9.

"I will be the president of all," Isaac Harzog said after winning the presidential election.

Isaac Harzog, a veteran politician, is the country's former Labor leader, former opposition leader and former welfare and expatriate minister. He is the son of Chaim Herzog, who served as Israel's president from 1983 to 1993.

Isaac Herzog will be sworn in as the first president in the history of Israel, whose father was also the country's president.
