Two dead, several missing after buildings collapse in Italy

At least two person has been killed in a building collapse in Italy. Besides, 9 more people are still missing. This information has been confirmed in a report by CNN.

The accident happened on Sunday morning in the Sicilian city of Ravanusa in Italy. The report was released by the country's fire service Vigili del Fuoco and the news agency ANSA.

Emergency personnel rescued the body of a man while trying to rescue people from under the rubble after the building collapsed. Fire service Vigili del Fuoco confirmed the death of one person on their official Twitter account.

Two women have been rescued alive so far. One of them was rescued from under the rubble.

The building collapsed shortly after a large explosion from a gas leak, Italian authorities said. Three houses were destroyed and one house was damaged.

The incident is under investigation, officials said. It is hoped that more information will be available in the next few days. An official said such explosions were very rare.
