A Jeddah-bound passenger with 8,000 pieces of Yaba has been detained at Dhaka's Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

The incident took place around 8:30 am on Tuesday.

Airport Aviation Security Additional Superintendent of Police Shahriar Alam confirmed this matter.

According to Airport Aviation Security sources, on an Emirates flight to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia via Dubai, United Arab Emirates, scanning at the airport, Yaba was seized from a passenger named Md.Ohidul Sikder.

About 8,000 pieces of Yaba have been seized in the presence of the Airport Security Manager, Additional Superintendent of Police Shahriar Alam, ASP Ferdous, and Flight Lieutenant Nowshin.

Relevant sources said that the case is being processed in this regard.
