U.S. comedian Jim Carrey plans to retire from acting.

The actor, best known for 'Bruce 'Almighty', 'The Mask' and 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas', has said that his upcoming movie 'Sonic the Hedgehog 2' is going to be his next.

"I'm retiring. And I'm pretty serious about it," the 60-year-old comedy icon said in an interview with Access Hollywood.

"I love my quiet, serene life. I love to touch the colors on the canvas, I love to think about the spiritual aspects of life. You probably won't hear that from the mouths of any other star - I say, I've had enough. I've done enough," Jim added.

Recently, American lyricist-musician Dolly Parton expressed her hope that Jim Carrey would play the role of his one-time partner Porter Wagner in the biopic.

Jim Carrey has taken a long break from acting in films before. After starring in 'Dark Crimes' and 'The Bad Batch' in 2016, Carrey was away from acting for four years. He returned to the screen in 2020 with 'Sonic the Hedgehog'.
