The plane crash killed seven people, including Joe Lara, the actor in the popular TV series Tarzan, and his wife. The accident happened at 11 a.m. local time on Saturday, May 29 at a lake in Nashville, Tennessee, authorities said.

The rescue group Rutherford County Fire and Rescue (RCFR) said on Facebook that the small commercial jet crashed shortly after takeoff from Tennessee's Smyrna Rutherford County Airport. The plane crashed into Percy Priest Lake, 19 kilometers south of Nashville.

The Central Aviation Administration confirmed that there were seven passengers on board. The rescue operation was rescheduled for Saturday night after the crash, RCFR Commander Capt. Joshua Sanders said.

"We are not expecting anyone to be rescued alive at the moment," he said at the time.

The RCFR said on Saturday evening that in the rescue operation they found various elements including the body. They said half a kilometer of debris had fallen. The rescue operation continued in the dark and ended on Monday, May 31 in the morning.
