"Explosions hit in North Kyiv and West Lviv in Ukraine"

Explosions hit in North Kyiv and the western city of Lviv early on Saturday, April 16th, and the mayor of the Ukrainian capital said rescuers and doctors were working at the site of a blast on the edge of the city.

There were no immediate details of casualties or damage yet reports in Kyiv and Lviv.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said about 2,500 to 3,000 Ukrainian troops have been killed in seven weeks of war with Russia and about 10,000 injured, but there was no count of civilian casualties.

He told the news report on Friday, that 19,000 to 20,000 Russian soldiers had been killed in the war. Moscow said last month that 1,351 Russian soldiers had been killed and 3,825 injured.
