President, PM pay tributes to Liberation War martyrs

On the occasion of the great victory day, President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina paid homage to the martyred freedom fighters with flowers at the National Memorial of Savar.

The President and then the Prime Minister paid their respects in the early hours of Thursday, December 16 at 6:30 am.

Responding to the call of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the greatest Bengali nation of all time, the Bengali nation achieved the final victory on this day in 1971 through a long 23 years of political struggle and 9 months of the bloody liberation war.

On the occasion of Victory Day, important roads, road islands, and intersections have been illuminated in government, semi-government, autonomous, and private buildings all over the country including the capital.

The President and the Prime Minister have given messages on the occasion of the day.

On this occasion, electronic media is broadcasting various programs based on the liberation war throughout the month.
