Lighter ship sinks off Ctg port

A lighter ship named 'MV Titu-14' stacked with cement clinker sank in the outer harbor of Chittagong port.

There were 13 sailors on board. Six of them have been rescued but seven are still missing.

The ship sank on Saturday morning, March 19. Chittagong Port Secretary. Omar Farooq affirmed the data.

A search and rescue mission is currently underway, according to the port authorities, and the port's rescue ship Tugboat was working to rescue the sunken lighter ship.

The ship was preparing to depart for its destination after loading cement clinker at the port's outer anchorage.

According to port officials, the lighter vessel was carrying about 1,400 tonnes of cement clinkers.
