Staff Correspondent
The Ramna Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Detective Police seized Lysergic acid diethylamide or LSD from a house in the capital. Several young people in Dhaka are making cakes with cannabis leaf extract and selling them through online. All of them are university students.

They are selling cakes made of the deadly drug LSD and marijuana through Facebook groups. The detective police has got the link of LSD in the investigation of the death of Hafizur Rahman, a student of Dhaka University.

"We first recovered LSD in Bangladesh on Wednesday, May 27," AKM Hafeez Akhter, additional commissioner of metropolitan detective (DB) police, told a news conference at the DMP's media center at noon on Thursday, May 27.

After arresting three youths in the incident, information was obtained from them about making and selling cannabis cakes. However, this cake could not be recovered.

DB found out that they used to open a Facebook group and make cakes with cannabis leaf extract and sell them as drugs. This group has about one thousand members.

Meanwhile, 200 blots of the new drug LSD were recovered from three people arrested in the DB operation. The price of each blotter is 3-4 thousand taka.

The three arrested are Sadman Shakib alias Rupal, Ashab Wadud alias Turya and Adin Ashraf. Their age is between 22-25 years. Sadman Shakib was arrested from Dhanmondi.

According to DB, Sadman Shakib was expelled from Dhaka University's IBA. He is currently studying BBA (final year) at North South University. He originally ordered the drug from the Netherlands through the Telegram app a year ago. The drugs come in parcels. They bought each blotter for 800-1000 taka.
