Madrasa students killed when a reckless truck hit

Two Madrasa students on a motorcycle were killed when a reckless truck hit them in Noakhali's Kompaniganj. The accident took place on the Basurhat-Peshkarhat road in front of Shimultali Mohammadia Forkania Madrasa in Ward no. 8 of Basurhat Municipality at around 7 am on Thursday, june 03.

The dead are Gazi Mohammad Ashkar (10) is the son of Kamruzzaman Shahanur of Charkankara 6 no. ward and Minhazul Islam (8) is the son of Shahidul Islam of the same ward. They are students of the local Darul Akram Madrasa.

Companiganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mir Jahedul Haque Rony said Moniruzzaman Quraishi Ifas, 23, was going to Darul Akram Madrasa in Basurhat Municipality Ward no. 9 to take his brother Ashkar and nephew Minhazul Islam on a motorcycle in the morning.

At around 7 am, a reckless speeding truck overtook them when they reached the paved road from Basurhat to Peshkarhat in front of Shimultali Mohammadia Forkania Madrasa in Ward no. 8 of Basurhat Municipality.

Two madrasa students were killed on the spot and the motorcyclist was injured.

When he was taken to Companiganj Upazila Health Complex, the on-duty doctor shifted to Noakhali General Hospital. He was later shifted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

The truck was seized in the incident.
