Metrorail construction work progress is 63 percent

The construction of the first metro rail in Bangladesh has progressed at an average of 63.26 percent. From the third phase of Uttara scheduled for the construction of the first phase, the progress of the construction work in the Agargaon section is 84.79 percent.

Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader made the remarks while virtually participating in the progress inspection of the first Metro train set and Metrorail construction project at Metrorail Depot in Uttara on Tuesday, May 11.

He said the progress of construction work from Agargaon to Motijheel section scheduled for construction in the second phase is 59.78 per cent and the overall progress of procurement of electrical and mechanical systems, rolling stock and depot equipment is 54.40 per cent.

The Ambassador of Japan and the Country Director of JICA were present at the Uttara Depot at the time.
