Pedestrian killed in a bus crash in Munshiganj

A woman was killed in a bus crash in Munshiganj's Gazaria upazila. Another was injured at the time. The accident took place on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at Jamaldi bus stand area of the upazila around 7 pm on Monday, january 25.
Gazaria Fire Service and Civil Defense Station Officer Rifat Mallick confirmed the matter.
The name of the woman killed was not immediately known. The injured was identified as Khalilur Rahman, 45.
Rifat Mallick said a Cumilla-bound Al Arafah Express bus lost control and crushed pedestrians on the side of the road last evening. A pedestrian was killed on the spot. Besides, another pedestrian named Khalilur Rahman was injured.
The body was recovered after receiving the news. The injured Khalilur has been admitted to Gazaria Upazila Health Complex.
Gazaria Highway Police Outpost in charge Salahuddin said the deadly bus was intercepted with the help of locals. However, the driver and his accomplice fled immediately after the accident
