Nazmul Hasan Papon has been elected the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) for the fourth time after getting the highest number of votes from the board of directors. The newly elected BCB president told the media some part of the plan for the next four years.

Where Papon said, this time the goal is to take the Bangladesh team in the top five in the ODI rankings. He also prioritizes three of the many developmental works.

The BCB boss announced his future plans in the first media session after taking charge on Thursday, October 7.

At present, Bangladesh is at number seven in the ODI rankings, beating former world champions Sri Lanka and the West Indies. If you want to go at number five, you have to beat Pakistan and South Africa.

“Our next goal is to get into the top five,” Papon said.

“Our next goal is going at number five position in the ICC ODI ranking. But now I am not dreaming of going to the top three-four right now.“

Papon has said, you can question me why not at number three or four right now? I sincerely believe that it may be possible for us to rise from the current situation (seven) to five. Each stage is very difficult. We have not yet done the amount of work that needs to be done to get to the next stage, nor have the facilities been established.

“No matter how much we improve,” he said.

"World cricket has improved a lot. There is much more to be done to keep pace with them. Much more needs to be done to sustain success."

Papon added, “I give importance and priority to three tasks. Number one is Sheikh Hasina Stadium. Work on the stadium in Purbachal should be started as soon as possible. The second is to change the constitution. And the third is to accelerate the infrastructural development work of the regional cricket body.“

At this time, he also presented the plan of how to make all these works successful to the journalists.
