Police have recovered the body of an unidentified newborn boy (approximately 1 day) from a pile of garbage in the Kadamtala area of ​​Shahbagh Police Station.

The body of the newborn was recovered around 9 am on Saturday, April 02, and sent to the Dhaka Medical College (DMC) morgue for autopsy.

Shahbagh Police Station Sub-Inspector (SI) Zia told that a woman named Monowara Begum saw the newborn in a pile of garbage and informed us. Later, we recovered the body of the newborn from the pile of dirt on the bridge on the south side of Kadamtala. The body has been sent to Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.

He added that efforts were being made to identify who had left the body of the newborn here. The exact cause of death will be known in the autopsy report.
