Gunmen attacked a school in Nigeria

Hundreds of students are feared missing after gunmen attacked a school in Nigeria's northwestern state of Katsina. They attack shortly after noon in front of a government science secondary school in the state of Katsina. There were more than 800 students in that school. The attackers came to the scene on a motorbike and fired blank shot.
As a result, the people in the area fled. Many students of that school were also able to escape. In addition, at least 200 students returned after fleeing. At first they were presumed missing. Eyewitnesses say they saw the gunmen capture many of the students.
However, it is not yet known why the attack was carried out.Authorities say no injuries have been reported so far.
Meanwhile, Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari condemned the incident and ordered an audit of the number of missing students at the school. Parents who were waiting to pick up their children from school have also been asked to report the matter to authorities.
