'Strict action taken if extra rent charged'

Obaidul Quader, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and General Secretary of the Awami League, reminded the transport owners and workers that Strict action will be taken if the promise made to the government including breach of fixed rent is broken.

During a briefing, this morning at his residence the Minister for Road Transport and Bridges, sternly warned the transport owners and workers in this regard.

He said the increased fare would not apply to gas, octane, and petrol vehicles.

Obaidul Quader also said that the Home Minister is taking the initiative to resolve the issue of truck-covered van strike with the concerned leaders.

Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader said in response to various statements of BNP leaders, there is no terrible situation in the country. He said the government's stance against communal evils, corruption, and irregularities in the public interest is tough.

"The government is naturally hard on those who plunder the resources of the people," the Awami League general secretary said.

Obaidul Quader said, "The undemocratic dictatorship has infiltrated politics in this country, they have corrupted politics. And, the BNP will never be able to avoid this responsibility."

"The BNP wants to cover the sky with the palm of its hand, but the truth will be revealed," said Obaidul Quader, adding that the flood of truth is irresistible.
