'Physical condition of Obaidul Quader is improving'

Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader's condition is improving, says his doctor at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU).

He made the remarks while briefing reporters on Wednesday, December 15 in the morning.

Sharfuddin Ahmed said that there was no complication in Obaidul Quader's lungs. His physical condition is better than yesterday.

Blood pressure and oxygen saturation are normal. However, he will be under close observation for another 2-3 days.

Obaidul Quader was admitted to BSMMU on Tuesday, December 14 after feeling ill.

Sharfuddin added, "The minister has sought everyone's prayers for a speedy recovery."

Earlier, on March 2, 2019, he was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka after suffering a heart attack and was taken to Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore for advanced treatment. He underwent bypass surgery there.

At that time Obaidul Quader had a heart attack in Dhaka. Immediately after the angiogram, three blocks were found in the blood vessels in his heart. He was then taken to Singapore by air ambulance with first aid.
