Omicron variant
A new type of coronavirus was identified in several countries, including South Africa. The Director of the Department of Health (Disease Control) Nazmul Islam has been warned in all ports of the country about the Omicron variant on Sunday.

He said security has been beefed up at the ports.

A new type of corona was identified in South Africa last Tuesday.

In addition to South Africa, new such findings have been made in Botswana, Israel, Hong Kong, Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy.

The WHO has given a new name to the corona, 'Omicron'. The organization described the type as "worrying". The idea is that it is far more contagious than all previous types of the corona.

However, experts have not yet confirmed whether the Omicron is more or less deadly than other types of the corona.

Nazmul Islam said, "The WHO has already called the Omicron type "worrying". We are also aware of this."

The director of the health department added, "In the last 30 days, the country has seen a low corona detection rate. This rate has remained below 2 percent.

But in this situation, we have no reason to be complacent. There is no substitute to wear the mask and follow other health rules."
