Homebound passengers suffering on rail route

The long wait for the train ticket was over but the suffering did not stop. As the train did not arrive on time, the crowd of homebound passengers has increased at Kamalapur railway station in the capital.
People have been crowding the platform since dawn on Friday. The Sundarban Express was scheduled to arrive at 8:15 am, but it arrived an hour later than the scheduled time. As a result, the passengers who will travel in this train go to the station from morning.
Besides, the Rangpur Express also arrives later than the scheduled time, which increases the suffering to the passengers. Many expressed relief at the arrival of the train after a long wait at the station.
Moreover, there are more passengers than capacity in almost every train. In the last few days, those who could not get ticket despite various attempts, got on the train without tickets. In this intense heat, the passengers including older, children and women were in huge pain.
Even though the schedule crash, the passengers are excited to go home on Eid.
Kamalapur railway station manager Mohammad Masud Sarwar said, “Today 122 trains will leave Dhaka. Besides, there are 4 special trains. Train delays are being minimized. It will be resolved soon.”
