Two killed in oil tanker fire in Patenga

Ruhul Amin and Nezam Uddin were killed in a fire that broke out in an oil tanker on the Karnafuli River in Patenga, Chattogram. Three more people were burnt at that time.

The fire broke out on an Irabati ship in the Guptakhal area near the Karnafuli river on Thursday, April 29 in the morning. Three units of the Navy, Port and Fire Services were able to bring the fire under control after about three hours.

According to the Navy, a fire broke out in the engine room of the oil tanker on Thursday morning. At this time the fire spread quickly. The crew then reported to the port that they had failed to control the fire. Three units of the Navy, Port and Fire Service later brought the fire under control after three hours.
