The pressure of Dhaka-bound passengers has increased in Paturia Ghat area of ​​Manikganj. Suffering has increased with that. After the government's decision to open all the shops and shopping malls in the country in the announced 'all-round lockdown', the pressure of Dhaka-bound passengers started increasing.

However, the order to shut down all shipping mall and public transport till April 28 is still in force. As a result, the passengers have suffered.

Additional passengers were seen coming on the ferry from Daulatdia Ghat in Rajbari on Monday, April 26 in the morning. However, the government did not give instructions for passenger crossing on the ferry. Three to four ferries have been ordered to operate for emergency services only. Meanwhile, people were seen crossing the river in engine-driven boats.

Meanwhile, Zillur Rahman, DGM, Aricha Sector, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC), said on Monday morning, ‘There is a lot of pressure on passengers at Daulatdia Ghat. However, due to the low number of ferries, the pressure at Paturia Ghat is not so noticeable. Two or three emergency service vehicles are seen carrying extra passengers on the ferry.

Although 16 to 17 ferries are always used for transport crossings at this wharf. But due to the lockdown, three to four ferries have been anchored in the wharf area for emergency transport.

On the other hand, passengers are suffering due to lack of public transport in Paturia Ghat area. However, passengers are going to Dhaka by various motorcycles and other small private cars at high prices. Rows of trucks and covered vans were also seen.
