State Minister for Primary and Mass Education Zakir Hossain has given a plan on when the final examination of this year may be held after the announcement of the opening of the school.

Responding to a question from reporters at the secretariat on Monday, he said the final examination of primary level could be held in late November or early December, depending on the situation. That test will be taken in a short syllabus.

He said that the number of subjects to be examined by the fifth-grade class students will be decided according to the situation.

Zakir Hossain said that all the annual examinations of the primary level will also be taken this year.

When the outbreak of coronavirus started in the country, all the educational institutions were closed on March 16 last year. Due to the lack of improvement in the situation, the annual final examination of the JSC-JDC examination, as well as the annual examination, were not held last year. Students are also assigned to the next class in the previous Roll number.

Now that the infection has come down, the government has decided to open all the educational institutions at the primary, secondary, and higher secondary levels from September 12.

After an inter-ministerial meeting on the opening of the educational institution on Sunday, Education Minister Dipu Moni said classes for the fifth, tenth and twelfth-grade classes would be held daily from September 12. There will be classes once a week from first to fourth-grade class and from sixth to ninth-grade class.
