Biden nominated Peter Haas as US ambassador to Bangladesh

US President Joe Biden has nominated Peter Haas as US ambassador to Bangladesh.

A statement from the White House on Friday, July 9 confirmed this matter.

The statement added that, US President Joe Biden had nominated new ambassadors to India, Chile and Mokana.

According to a report by Voice of America, Peter Haas is currently the acting Assistant Secretary of State and the Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Economics and Trade.

In his career, Haas has worked in four other missions or consular services abroad, including Mumbai, India. He is fluent in English as well as French and German.

The United States Senate will finalize the nominations. Once the nomination is finalized, Peter Haas will replace Earl Miller, the current US ambassador to Bangladesh.
