Today, 1 lakh 620 doses of Pfizer vaccine are coming from COVAX to prevent the deadly coronavirus infection. Vaccine is scheduled to arrive in the country on a Qatar Airlines flight at 11:20 pm. Director General of the Department of Health, Prof. Abul Bashar Khurshid Alam confirmed this matter.

He told that he hoped the vaccine would arrive tonight. The vaccine was supposed to arrive yesterday (Sunday) in the evening, according to the itinerary they (COVAX) gave us on our flight. But at night they told me again that there was a disturbance in them.

Khurshid Alam said, "Even though the vaccine came tonight, I still can't say for sure about the time. However, a Qatar Airlines flight is scheduled to arrive at 11:20 pm."

Earlier, on Sunday the spokesman and line director of the department, Prof. Dr. Robed Amin told that the Pfizer vaccine that was supposed to come at night is not coming today. We did not get the specific flight that was supposed to bring the vaccine.

The COVAX platform was developed by the World Health Organization, the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunizations (GAVI) and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparatory Innovations (CEPI).

Through this alliance, free vaccination is to be provided to 20 percent of the total population of each country. In the first phase, Bangladesh was supposed to get 1 crore 27 lakh doses of vaccine from Covax. But it is not possible because of the global vaccine crisis.
