Educational institutions will be monitored in February also: PM

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, "Infection of the novel coronavirus started in the country in March last year. So in the month of February we will observe. She said this while announcing the results of HSC and equivalent assessments by joining online from the Prime Minister's Office at 10.30 am on Saturday, january 30.

The Prime Minister requested not to comment negatively on the results. "Some people's job is just to criticize," she said.

The Prime Minister said, "The people of the country are immersed in a hostile environment. We made all the preparations to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu. But due to the coronavirus disaster we could not observe. Because, I love the people of the country. We have closed educational institutions to save the people of the country. However, classes are kept on through Parliament TV and online. We have tried to take the students into the learning environment. But the whole world is drowning in coronavirus. We could not take the examination despite all the preparations. So the results have to be published in this way."

Noting that the results have been announced in the corona situation so as not to disrupt the students' studies.

Prime MInister said, "Results have been announced in the same manner in different countries of the world due to the corona situation. The results have been prepared considering the opinion of experts. In this case JSC and equivalent, SSC and equivalent examinations have been taken into consideration. It was a difficult task. Thanks to everyone involved for making this work so easy."

The Prime Minister said, "Let a year be wasted from the lives of students, we don’t want that. So we announced the results. They will continue their studies."

Earlier, Education Minister Dipu Moni received the results from the chairmen of all the boards on behalf of the Prime Minister. The Education Minister received the results from the International Mother Tongue Institute at around 10:45 am on Saturday, january 30. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined the function via video conference from Ganabhaban and announced the results.

After announcing the results, the Prime Minister congratulated all the students.

Due to coronavirus, the government decided to cancel last year's HSC and equivalent examinations and pass them all.
