Poet Nurul Huda appointed as Bangla Academy director general

Poet, novelist and writer Muhammad Nurul Huda has been appointed as the new Director General (DG) of Bangla Academy.

An order has been issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on Monday, July 12, appointing him for three years on condition that he relinquish his relationship with other organizations.

Nurul Huda has been appointed as per 'Bangla Academy Act, 2013'. It has been mentioned in the notification that this appointment will be effective from the date of joining.

Nurul Huda was born in 1949 in Cox's Bazar district. The number of his published books is more than fifty. He was awarded the Bangla Academy Award in 1988 and the Ekushey Padak in 2015 for his significant contribution to Bengali poetry.

Minar Mansur has become the new director of the National Book Center. According to the National Book Center Act, 1995, a notification has been issued by the Ministry of Public Administration for this appointment for three years.
