Regarding the unplanned development of the capital Dhaka, Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader said, "It is extremely miserable and humiliating to see the state of this city."

He added that today Bangladesh is on the list of 11 economically advanced countries in the world. He does not agree with Bangladesh, not at all. Attempting to improve the transport, I have attempted a great deal, I need to change this scene. That look of vehicles around here is harsh! There is no comparison with the height to which Sheikh Hasina has taken the development of Bangladesh, doesn't match that.

He made the remarks while addressing a function at Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka on Tuesday afternoon.

Obaidul Quader said Dhaka is 137th among 140 uninhabitable cities in the world. I think the mayors know this and need to design considering Dhaka.

He said one of the most unplanned cities. The city has developed without a plan. Earthquakes, big storms We're at great risk. Only one person has seen the dreams, Padma Bridge, Metrorail, Elevated Expressway, Karnafuli Tunnel. I don't want to stay like this anymore. Sheikh Hasina dreamed of this subway. We didn't think so. She repeatedly said that if there was any program on the road, it would be the subway. The condition of this city now, we have to do subway. There is no alternative.
