'Rain will continue another three days'

The Meteorological Department has forecast that the trend of rain will continue for the next three days.

The Meteorological Department said in a forecast on Tuesday.

According to the forecast, the extension of the monsoon wind axis extends from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam and a portion of it is located in the North Bay and the monsoon is moderately active in Bangladesh and moderate in the North Bay.

Due to this, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Chattogram, Dhaka, Mymensingh and many parts of Sylhet division may experience moderate rain with gusts and thundershowers. At the same time, there may be scattered moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.

The forecast further said that daytime temperatures across the country may drop slightly and nighttime temperatures may remain almost unchanged.

Meanwhile, in the last 24 hours, the highest temperature of 34.5 degrees Celsius was recorded in Syedpur and the lowest was recorded in Cox's Bazar at 23.8 degrees Celsius. Besides, the highest rainfall of 97 mm has been recorded in Hatia.
