Light to moderate rain are expected in some parts of the country, the weather forecast said. According to the meteorological office, some places in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions may experience light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts. At the same time, there may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.

Rainfall is likely to continue for the next three days, the weather forecast said.

Sylhet recorded the highest rainfall of 42 mm in the last 24 hours till 6 am on Tuesday. According to the meteorological office, only one millimeter of rain fell in Dhaka at that time.

The weather forecast for the next 24 hours from 9 am today said that light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusts may occur in some parts of Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal and Chattogram divisions. At the same time, there may be moderate to heavy rains in some parts of the country.

In addition, daytime temperatures across the country may remain almost unchanged and temperatures at night may drop slightly.

Yesterday's highest temperature was 36.0 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi. Today's minimum temperature was recorded at 25.0 degree Celsius in Rangamati.

The meteorological forecast further said that most of the monsoon axis extends from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and central Bangladesh to Assam. An additional part of it is located in the North Bay. The monsoon is moderately active over Bangladesh and moderate over the North Bay.
