Body of female doctor recovered in Ramna

The body of a female doctor named Supriya Karmakar (35) has been recovered from a house in New Eskaton of Ramna Police Station in the capital.

Ramna police recovered her body from her house at 112 on New Eskaton Road at noon on Monday, May 17.

Supriya Karmakar is the daughter of Sudhir Karmakar of Kartarhat village in Bhola's Lalmohan upazila. She lived in the rented house at 112 New Eskaton Road.

Ramna Police Sub-Inspector (SI) Narayan Sarkar confirmed the matter and said the body of a female doctor was recovered around noon. After the legal process, the body was sent to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital for autopsy.

Supriya Karmakar’s brother Sutanu Karmakar said, 'Supriya fell asleep in her room at 10.30 pm after eating dinner on Sunday night. I call her a lot when she doesn't wake up till eleven o'clock today. But without getting any response, I opened the door and entered, I saw her hanging with the ceiling fan. After informing the police, the body was recovered and sent to the morgue of DMC Hospital for autopsy.'

He added that Supriya Karmakar was working at Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital in Barisal. She is currently doing FCPS course at Bangabandhu Medical College University (BSMMU).
