Luka Modrić in new contract with Real Madrid

Luka Modrić has extended his contract with Real Madrid for one year. Under the new contract, the experienced Croatian midfielder will remain at the Madrid club until June 2022.

In a statement, he confirmed the deal on Tuesday, the most successful Spanish side.

The 35-year-old Modrić's previous contract will expire next month. He is overwhelmed by the new deal.

"I am proud and happy to be able to wear the jersey of the best club in the world."

Luka Modrić joined Real from Tottenham Hotspur in 2012. Surrounded by frustration, he was one of the team's best performers this season, winning the 2018 FIFA World Player of the Year and Ballon d'Or.
