A motorcyclist has killed in a road accident at Godagari in Rajshahi. The accident took place on the Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway in Basantapur area of ​​the upazila around 9pm on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Zahir Hossain, 45. He is the son of Abu Kashem of Vijayaswar village in Brahmanbaria. He and his family live in the area under Shahmakhdum police station in Rajshahi city. By profession he is a motorcycle mechanic.

Citing eyewitnesses and the victim's family, police said Zaheer was riding from Rajshahi to a relative's house in Godagari last night. He was killed on the spot when he was hit by a vehicle in Basantapur area of ​​Rajshahi-Chapainawabganj highway at around 9 pm.

Police could not identify him at first. Zaheer's family members later identified him after seeing his motorcycle and a mobile phone lying on the side of the road.

Godagari Model Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Khalilur Rahman Patwary said Zaheer's body was crushed. Due to this it was not recognized at first.

Later, family members identified him through motorcycles and mobile phones. The vehicle responsible for the accident could not be identified. The body was handed over at night at the request of the family. The brother of the deceased has filed a case at night.
