A 35-year-old rickshaw puller was killed in a road accident at Bashabo flyover in the capital's Sabujbagh. However, his name has not been confirmed yet.

The accident happened on Wednesday, May 12 in the morning. He fell on the flyover in a bloody state after the accident. Later, a pedestrian rescued him and took him to Dhaka Medical College (DMC) Hospital. The doctor on duty declared him dead at around 5.30 am.

Ujjal Hossain, a pedestrian who took the rickshaw puller to Dhaka Medical College, said he was going to his workplace in a rickshaw at Basabo flyover after Sahari. He saw the rickshaw puller lying in a bloody state and took him to the hospital. At that time the rickshaw puller was wearing lungi and shirt.

Ujjal Hossain said, "I did not see how that person was injured. However, the way he fell, it seemed that a speeding car pushed him. I can't say more than that."

DMEC hospital police camp in-charge (inspector) Bachchu Mia said the identity of the deceased was not yet known. Trying to find out the details. The body has been kept in the morgue of the hospital for autopsy. The matter has been informed to the concerned police station.
