Woman dies in road accident in Gulshan

A 35-year-old woman was killed in a head-on collision with a speeding vehicle at Shahjadpur Khalpar area of ​​the capital's Gulshan.

The accident happened on Sunday, May 16 at night. Relatives rescued her in critical condition and took her to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The doctor on duty there declared her dead at around 1:15 pm.

"My wife works as house servent," said Abdus Sattar, the victim's husband.

On his way home at night, a speeding vehicle hit her while she was crossing the road in Gulpar Shahjadpur Khalpar area. She was seriously injured and fell on the road. Upon receiving the news, we rescued her and took her to the emergency department of Dhaka Medical College Hospital. The doctor later pronounced her dead.

He further said, "Our village home is in Khanur village of Begumganj upazila of Noakhali. I live in Noakhalyarbari in Khalpar area of ​​Gulshan Shahjadpur."

ASI Abdullah Khan, assistant in-charge of the police camp at Dhaka Medical College Hospital, confirmed the death and said a woman injured in a road accident from Gulshan Shahjadpur area died after being brought to the hospital. The body has been kept in the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital for autopsy. The matter has been reported to the concerned police station.
