Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed to set up RT-PCR labs for coronavirus testing at three international airports in the country within two to three days. Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam gave details during the briefing after the cabinet meeting.

The secretary said the corona could be tested at government-run airports. Results will be available within 4 hours of sampling. In the cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister directed to start the test by installing the RT-PCR machine within 2 to 3 days.

At the beginning of the meeting, the cabinet gave final approval to the draft of the 'Government Debt Act-2021'. The cabinet secretary said the borrowing structure of government institutions would be specified under the law. Debt protection will be ensured. In addition to meeting the government's budget deficit, loan guarantees will also be ensured under this law. There will also be Shariah-based deposit arrangements.

Besides, the Cabinet also approved the Rapid Increase in Power and Energy Supply (Special Provisions) Act, 2021. The time is increasing until 2026. A few days ago there was a surplus of electricity. Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam also said that the law would help in increasing the demand in the future.
