PM directed action against those involved in violence

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has directed the Home Ministry to take action against those involved in the attempt to destroy harmony.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina took a virtual part in the regular cabinet meeting on Tuesday, October 19. Later, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said this.

Replying to a question, he said the Prime Minister has directed the Home Minister to take strict action against those involved in the recent violence. The culprits should be punished as soon as possible.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister called upon the religious leaders to come forward.

Besides, the cabinet department is working to bring in e-commerce policy, the secretary said, adding that overall transparency will be brought in a couple of months. Meanwhile, the cabinet has approved in principle the draft of the Bangladesh Public Service Commission Act 2021 with a provision of a maximum of 10 years and a minimum of 3 years imprisonment for being involved in leaking question papers.
