Storm may occur in 7 parts of the country

Thunderstorms continue in the country. Death is constantly increasing. More than 15 people were killed in lightning strikes in different parts of the country yesterday. Even today, there may be thunderstorms in seven divisions and two regions of the country.

In the next 24 hours forecast from 9 am on Wednesday, May 19, the Meteorological Department said that there will be temporary gusts or thundershowers at some places in Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and a couple of places in Rangpur, Rajshahi and Chattogram divisions including Jessore and Kushtia regions. The weather will be mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy skies.

In the last 24 hours, there have been storms in 16 parts of the country. The highest rainfall was 50 mm at Nikli in Kishoreganj. The rainfall in Dhaka was 45 mm.

Meanwhile, the heat wave continues in the country. Jessore recorded the highest temperature in the country at 39 degrees Celsius yesterday.

Today's heat wave has been reported in Faridpur, Madaripur, Gopalganj, Sitakunda, Rangamati, Cumilla, Chandpur, Feni, Maijdikort, Rajshahi, Pabna and Sirajganj areas, including Khulna and Barisal divisions, mild to moderate heat wave is flowing and may continue.

Day and night temperatures across the country can remain almost unchanged. The meteorological office also said that there will be no significant change in the weather in the next three days.

Most of the western light pressure is located in West Bengal and adjoining areas, extending as far as the North Bay.
