Although there is a possibility of thunderstorm in five parts of the country, the meteorological office said that heat wave is flowing over three parts.

The Meteorological Department said in a forecast for the next 24 hours on Monday, May 17 at 9 am.

As mentioned in the forecast, the increase in light pressure is located in West Bengal and adjoining areas. There may be temporary gusts or thundershowers in some parts of Sylhet division including Comilla region and a couple of places in Rangpur, Rajshahi, Dhaka and Mymensingh divisions. Elsewhere in the country, the weather may be dry.

It has rained in 10 parts of the country in the last 24 hours. The maximum rainfall was 50 mm.

Regarding the heat wave, it has been said that mild heat wave is blowing over Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions including Rajshahi, Pabna, Rangamati, Chandpur, Maijdi Court and Feni region and it may continue. Day and night temperatures may rise slightly across the country today.

The highest temperature recorded in the country yesterday was 38 degrees Celsius in Rangamati. The highest temperature recorded in Dhaka was 36.4 degrees Celsius.

The meteorological office also said that there is no possibility of significant change in the weather in the next 3 days of these 24 hours.
