Storm-rain forecast across the country

The tendency for rain has increased compared to the last few days. On Wednesday, April 20, there will be less rain in all eight divisions of the country. The country's temperature may drop by 1° to 3°. Therefore, the heatwave flowing over different regions may be mitigated, said the Meteorological Department.

The expected rain was seen in Dhaka around 6:45 am on Wednesday, accompanied by thunderstorms. The rain stopped at around 7:45 am. Later, in the second phase, a thunderstorm started in Dhaka at around 11 am.

According to the Meteorological Department, there has been more or less raining in all the divisions except Khulna and Barisal divisions in the last 24 hours from 6 am on Tuesday 19 April to 8 am on Wednesday. Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions received heavy rainfall. The highest rainfall of 80 mm was recorded in Rangpur at this time.

Meteorologist Muhammad Abul Kalam Mallik said that in the next 24 hours from 9 am on Wednesday in many places of Rangpur, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions - some parts of Rajshahi, Dhaka and Chittagong divisions and a couple of places in Khulna and Barisal divisions with temporary gusts of lightning There maybe rain or thunderstorms. There may also be scattered hailstorms anywhere in the country.

During this time, daytime temperatures across the country may drop by 1° to 3° Celsius and nighttime temperatures may remain almost unchanged. The meteorologist also said that the trend of storms and rain may continue for the next three days.

Apart from this, mild heat wave is blowing over Rajshahi, Pabna, Jessore and Rangamati areas and it may subside, he added.
