6 detained along with two women from residential hotel in Sylhet

The Metropolitan Detective Police (DB) has arrested two women and four men on charges of anti-social activities in residential hotels in Sylhet.

A team of the Metropolitan Detective Branch (DB) raided the Al Minar residential hotel in Lalbazar around 3:30 pm on Tuesday and arrested six people for engaging in anti-social activities, police said. Of these, four are men and two are women.

The detainees were identified as Vivekand Das Vivek, 52, of Saneshwar village in Beanibazar upazila of Sylhet, Monir Alam, 35, of Sadar Dungaria village in South Sunamganj upazila of Sunamganj district, Angur Mia, 31, of Mokargaon in the same upazila and Mohammad Tahidul Haque (28) Tuk Dirai village of Sunamganj Sadar police station.

They all lived in the Hotel Al Minar. A case is being prepared against the detainees, police said.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Metropolitan Police Munadir Islam Chowdhury led the operation. SI Soumen Das, SI Shamim Uddin, ASI Amir Hossain Amu, ASI Pradeep Kumar Singh, ASI Biswajit, Constable Uttam Roy, Sujit Das, Abul Kalam, Humayun Kabir, Maraj Mia, Nitendra Pal, Abu Sufian, Alam Hossain, Sohel Rana, Female constables Bilkis Akhter and Srishti Rani were also present in the operation.
