Taskin to play in T20
Taskin Ahmed has been ruled out of the three-formats squad for the upcoming tour of the West Indies due to injury. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) kept him in the team for this format as the ODI series was over there. However, the right-arm pacer is recovering quickly from the injury. That is why the BCB is considering associating him with the T20 team.
Chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu told on Tuesday, "Yes, there are plans to take him to T20. If he is fit, we will get a report, then he will be included in the T20 squad. '
After recovering from a back injury, Taskin has now begun to practice in full force. BCB chief physician Debashish Chowdhury has given him permission to play in a short format even if he is not in Tests. As such, the chief selector hopes that Taskin will be available in the T20 along with the ODIs.
Debasish said, ‘Taskin is in the middle stage of rehabilitation, meaning in the second stage. Now he can bowl at 70-80 intensity in the full run-up and this is how his progress will continue to increase. Hopefully, he will have no problem playing in the shorter version of West Indies. '
Taskin returned home without finishing his last tour of South Africa with a shoulder injury. Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League could not play for the same reason. Taksin also missed the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka at home.
The first test will start on June 16. The second Test starts in St. Lucia on June 24. Twenty-20 series after Tests. The first two T20s will be played in Dominica on July 2 and 3. The last T20 will be held on July 8 in Ganaya. Then there will be three ODIs in Guyana. The ODI series matches will be played on July 10, 13 and 16.
