The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) detained eight teenagers in a raid in Pallabi area of ​​the capital. According to the law enforcement agencies, these teenagers have joined a gang called 'romantic group' and are involved in criminal activities in the area.

RAB-2's Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Fazlul Haque said this in a press release on Thursday.

According to the RAB, the operation team conducted separate raids in the Pallabi police station area of ​​the capital from 6pm to 11pm on Wednesday and arrested eight members of the gang involved in various crimes including robbery and snatching. Seven knives, razors and six mobile phones were recovered from them.

Preliminary investigations and interrogations revealed that the detainees were members of a locally known teenage gang, the Romantic Group.

There are allegations that they are divided into different groups and are involved in various misdeeds including robbery, snatching, drug use, eve-teasing and extortion.

They are involved in conflicts and armed conflicts with other juvenile gangs in order to gain influence in the area. The notification said that RAB would continue such operations.
